2011 - FRESHMAN
Led the Vols in victories during his rookie season, compiling a 5-3 record in 23 total appearances, including two starts. Registered a 5.29 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 32.1 innings, while holding opposing hitters to a .281 batting average.
Retired both batters he faced in his collegiate debut against Milwaukee on Feb. 19.
Picked up his first career victory on Feb. 27 versus Canisius, allowing just one unearned run on two hits in 4.2 frames of relief.
Notched his second victory in his very next appearance, tossing 2.1 innings of one-hit ball in UT[apos]s 10-8 triumph over Morehead State on March 6.
Also tallied victories over Manhattan (3/13), at Lipscomb (3/23) and UNC Asheville (5/30).
Suffered his first loss in his first collegiate start at Kentucky on March 20.
Also came out on the short end against South Carolina (4/9) and at MTSU (5/11).
HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Siegel High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., where he was coached by Craig Reavis. Was a four-year letterwinner for the Stars, finishing his prep career with an overall record of 24-6 and 264 strikeouts.
Best season came as a senior when he posted a 10-2 mark on the mound and fanned 96 batters.
Was a four-time all-district, three-time all-region and two-time all-state honoree.
Was named his team[apos]s pitcher of the year in both 2008 and 2010.
