LAST TIME OUT
The Volunteers split their doubleheader on Sunday, losing to No. 20 Florida, 4-0, in the first match and besting Tennessee State, 6-1, to close the day. It marked the end of a five-match homestand, which the Big Orange completed with three wins and two losses.
SHOWING OUT FOR THE 865
Tuesday marked the fourth week in a row that two Knoxville natives, Jose Garcia and Alejandro Moreno, were included on the ITA national rankings list. Garcia checked in at No. 106 in the most recent period, while Moreno followed at No. 114. Moreno has yet to miss a spot in the rankings this season, with his No. 56 singles rating being the highest.
SCOUTING THE LONGHORNS
Texas has been ranked among the nation's top 10 since the beginning of the dual season. Its résumé supports the ranking, backed up by an overall 16-6 record and 10 wins vs. top-25 foes.
Despite the Longhorns' entrance into the SEC two years ago, the historical programs have played each other 20 times since 1974. Texas leads the all-time series by a slim margin of 12-8.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Texas A&M stands at 13-7 on the season, including a 6-3 record against SEC opponents. The Aggies' conference record leaves them currently standing in third place in the SEC. A&M is coming off a quality 4-3 win against No. 6 Mississippi State last weekend.
The Aggies and Vols previously faced off at the beginning of the year in the ITA Kickoff Weekend event. TAMU got the best of the Big Orange, downing UT by a 4-1 count at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.
