- Daughter of Erica and Chad Nelson; was born on May 3, 1998.
- Graduated from Marshall County Central in Newfolden, Minn.
- In high school, she was a member of the softball and volleyball teams.
- Listed Jennie Finch as biggest influence: "She was a part of the 2010 USA women's softball team that won the world cup. As a young girl, I have always looked up to her and had wanted to go to the Olympics for softball."
- Athletic accomplishment that she is most proud of: "My most proud accomplishment would be my senior season of softball and beating a top-ranked team in our section right before the playoffs."
- On why she chose Tennessee: "I chose the University of Tennessee because I wanted new opportunities away from Minnesota. I also wanted to try something new."
