HIGH SCHOOL

- Son of Patrick and Jennifer Merritt
- Has one younger brother, Nathan Merritt, who is a freshman outfielder at Cincinnati this season
- Was a two-time team captain during his career at Cincinnati
- Chose Tennessee over Arkansas, Texas and Notre Dame
- The 2023 season will be his final season of eligibility
