- Hit his second home run of the year at Memphis (5/11)

HIGH SCHOOL

- Perfect Game Preseason All-America Honorable Mention and second team all-league selection

- Earned his bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Cincinnati and is working towards his master’s in agricultural leadership, education and communications
- Son of Patrick and Jennifer Merritt
- Has one younger brother, Nathan Merritt, who is a freshman outfielder at Cincinnati this season
- Was a two-time team captain during his career at Cincinnati
- Chose Tennessee over Arkansas, Texas and Notre Dame
- The 2023 season will be his final season of eligibility
