Two Time All-SEC Honoree Oscar Lacides Inks With Tennessee

Oscar Lacides, a two-time All-SEC Second Team honoree, became the second player out of the portal to sign his paperwork with Tennessee men's tennis, Head Coach Chris Woodruff confirmed on Thursday.

The Frenchman has been a standout player in collegiate tennis from the jump, competing on court one in singles and doubles as a true freshman. He has tallied overall records of 35-26 in singles and 36-18 in doubles over the past two seasons at Oklahoma.

We have seen firsthand for two years how tough he is competing against him, and we could not be happier he has entrusted our staff with continuing his development towards his pro career. The 2025 ITA Central Region Rookie of the Year was named to the 2025 All-SEC Freshman Team after ending his rookie season with a 19-17 overall record.

Lacides is regarded as one of the top players in college tennis, appearing in the ITA poll since December 3, 2024. He peaked as high as No. 50 in singles last season and No. 10 in doubles alongside Bruno Nhavene during the 2024-25 campaign.

The 6-foot-2 righty holds a UTR of 13.61 with a career-best ITF ranking of 196 as well as a 1,630 ATP singles ranking. He also has three ATP doubles titles to his name, including two victories at the M25 Norman, Okla., tournament and one at the M25 Villeneuve-Loubet.

Lacides will join the Volunteers as a junior. UT now has two incoming transfers for 2026-27, bringing the total of Vol newcomers to five with three freshmen also joining in the fall.Â
