RTC Collegiate Invite
October 25, 2026 | Men's Tennis
Junior Orel Kimhi put together a perfect 4-0 singles record over the weekend at the RTC Collegiate Invite to lead Tennessee men's tennis with six total victories in Rome, Georgia.
The Oklahoma transfer lost only once in doubles at the event to combine for a 6-1 overall record. Freshman Adrien Abarca and sophomore Shion Itsusaki finished with four combined wins each to tie for second for the Big Orange at the Invitational. Itsusaki remains on fire in singles this fall, totaling eight triumphs and only three losses. Abarca's two wins in singles were the first of his career at the collegiate level.
Junior Jose Garcia came up next with three total wins, followed by sophomore Alan Bojarski and junior Woodson McMillin with two, and freshman Martin Doskocil and junior Oscar Lacides with one each. It was Lacides's first win in the orange and white after transferring from Oklahoma.
The victories came against doubles and singles players from Georgia, Jacksonville State, Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee, Vanderbilt and LSU.
Tennessee came out of the weekend with eight doubles wins and 15 singles victories, totaling 23 triumphs overall.
STILL IMPROVING
The 2025-26 ITA Ohio Valley Region Most Improved Player, Jose Garcia still looks like he is improving, notching a 5-2 singles record for the month of October. That is a 71.4 winning percentage over the past two fall tournaments. Garcia looks to be a large part of the Vols' success once again this year.
PERFECT PARTNER
After Adrien Abarca opened up his first collegiate action with a 3-0 doubles performance, he was able to follow it up by carding a 2-1 mark in doubles over the weekend. Abarca hasn't just won with one teammate, but he has ended up in the win column with three different Volunteers, including Itsusaki, Kimhi and McMillin.
UP NEXT
The Big Orange will return home for a quick turnaround at the UTR PTT Knoxville event from Oct. 27-31.
