Track Central: 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships

AUBURN, Ala. — Outdoor postseason gets underway this week for Tennessee track & field as more than 50 UT athletes travel to Auburn, Alabama, for the 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships. The conference meet runs Thursday through Saturday, May 14-16 at Auburn University's Hutsell-Rosen Track.
The meet kicks off for Tennessee with sophomores Aidan Ifkovits and Igor Olaru competing in the men's hammer throw at 3:15 p.m. ET on Thursday. Running events start on the track at 6:30 p.m. with Ka'Myya Haywood competing in the women's 800-meter prelims. The first running finals of the meet will take place Thursday night with Andie-Marie Jones entered in the women's 10,000-meter at 8:40 p.m.
Day two begins at 5:00 p.m. with Endia Smith in the women's long jump. Running prelims continue in the evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with three Vols on the track for the men's 110-meter hurdles. The women's 3,000-meter steeplechase final is set for Friday at 9:00 p.m., featuring Lady Vol grad student Amelia Wills who leads the SEC this season with a school-record mark of 9:52.51.
The conference championships will wrap up Saturday, starting at 2:30 p.m. with Tennessee school record holder Cedricka Williams representing UT in the women's discus throw. Running finals start at approximately 6:05 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay and conclude with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 9:40 p.m.
Fourth-year head coach Duane Ross leads Tennessee into battle with a pair of top-15 squads, with the Vols ranked sixth and the Lady Vols No. 13 in Tuesday's release of the USTFCCCA national track & field rating index. Additionally, the UT men are slotted No. 2 in the most recent coaches' association SEC power index.
FOLLOW LIVE: The 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships will be streamed online all three days via SEC Network+, available at espn.com/watch or the ESPN app. Saturday's evening session will be televised on SEC Network. The broadcast crew includes Dwight Stones, Dan O'Brien, John Anderson and Larra Overton.
