KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee track & field program closes out the 2026 outdoor regular season this weekend with four meets on the schedule. Sprinters, jumpers and throwers will travel to Lexington, Kentucky, for the Jim Green Invitational, while an additional group of sprinters is set to compete at the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Florida. Both of those meets will run Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, a select group of distance runners will compete at the Outdoor Music City Challenge in Nashville on Friday and the Duke Twilight in Durham, North Carolina, on Sunday.
Meet schedules and live results links for all four competitions can be found on the official Tennessee track & field schedule page.
LAST TIME OUT: Tennessee turned in a strong showing at the Tiger Track Classic, highlighted by a pair of event victories that rank among the NCAA's top 10 this season. Junior pole vaulter Ismaila Sawaneh cleared an outdoor personal-best 5.72 meters (18-9.25) to win the competition, moving to No. 3 nationally and in program history. In the throws, sophomore Igor Olaru surpassed the 70-meter barrier in the hammer with a winning mark of 70.26 meters (230-6), good for No. 2 all-time at Tennessee and No. 10 in the NCAA.
Additionally, Roddy Schenk (javelin) and Evan Puckett (pole vault) posted regional-qualifying marks, while freshman Hannah Grace continued her strong debut campaign with a victory in the women's pole vault, remaining undefeated through her first three collegiate meets.
WEEKLY HONOR: After his performance at the Tiger Track Classic, Ismaila Sawaneh collected his first career SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week award. He is the fourth Tennessee athlete to receive a weekly honor from the conference office this season, joining Cade Gray (2x), Cedricka Williams and Hannah Grace.
JARRETT EARNS POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP: Lady Vol senior sprinter Lauren Jarrett was recently announced as a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, recognizing her achievements on the track and in the classroom. The two-time Academic All-American is pursuing a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and joined the Tennessee program this past fall after a standout three-year career at Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she captured nine individual/relay NCAA Division III national titles and 14 All-America honors.
RANKINGS UPDATE: In the latest installment of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rating index, the Vols fell one spot to No. 6, while the Lady Vols remained ranked No. 14. Tennessee is one of 10 schools in the country with both its men's and women's programs ranked in the top 15 nationally.
