KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee men's tennis opens a five-match homestand, beginning with three contests this weekend at Barksdale Stadium on the UT campus.
The Volunteers will open by playing Arkansas at 5 p.m. on Friday. The Big Orange will complete the trio of matchups with a doubleheader on Sunday against Alabama at 11 a.m. and vs. Mercer at 4 p.m.
Admission is free to fans, and tennis parking will be available on West Volunteer Boulevard and at the top of the CI7/NC7 garage located next to Barksdale Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
The Vols showed determination away from home last weekend, but they came up short in two road matches, dropping decisions at No. 5 Mississippi State, 7-0, and at No. 6 LSU, 4-0.
MILESTONE TRACKER
Sophomore Jose Garcia is two triumphs away from reaching 25 total singles wins in the dual season. Garcia has contributed heavily to those numbers during the current campaign, collecting a team-leading 10 singles victories in his second collegiate season.
Jan Kobierski needs one more win to tally 20 singles victories in his career. Kobierski has been extremely efficient in his second year on Rocky Top, totaling a 3-0 record on court three in 2025-26.
The winningest Vol on the team, Alejandro Moreno is two singles wins from reaching 70 triumphs for his career. Moreno has an impressive 35-21 singles record in his two years with Tennessee.
SCOUTING THE RAZORBACKS
Arkansas has started the 2025-26 dual season on a strong note, notching a 12-6 record. The Razorbacks won its first Southeastern Conference match of the season last Sunday afternoon over No. 37 Kentucky at Billingsley Tennis Center.
UT holds the all-time advantage over the Razorbacks, 31-16. The Vols are riding a four-match winning streak coming into the showdown.
SCOUTING THE TIDE
The Crimson Tide has split its matches up until now, totaling an 8-8 record. Alabama collected a quality win in Athens against No. 8 Georgia last Friday, closing out a 4-3 triumph to get its first ranked win in 2025-26.
The rivalry against the Tide is one of the longest in Tennessee history, dating back to 1932. Eleven of the past matchups have gone the Volunteers' way, which has brought the all-time record total to 54-16 in favor of the Big Orange.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Mercer has a 4-7 record entering the Sunday contest against UT. The Bears are coming off a 4-3 win at North Florida to snap a two-match losing streak.
In the all-time series, Tennessee is a perfect 5-0, with the first win coming in 1964. The Vols have swept the Bears four of the last five times to underscore the dominance in the streak.
