PREVIEW: #7 Vols Prep for Cullan Brown Collegiate
October 03, 2026 | Men's Golf
The Fall season rolls on for the No. 7 Tennessee men's golf team this week at the Cullan Brown Collegiate. It is the third of four tournaments on the Fall slate for the Vols, with all eight golfers on the Tennessee roster set to compete.
The 54-hole event will take place over two days, beginning with 36 holes on Monday, October 5, before concluding with the third and final round on Tuesday, October 6.
Lexington Country Club in Lexington, Kentucky, will play host to the tournament. The course is widely considered one of the best in the state of Kentucky. The par-71 track will play at 7,255 yards for the Cullan Brown Collegiate.
Tennessee opened the Fall with a victory at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, before tying for sixth place among a field of 18 at the prestigious Inverness Intercollegiate in the second tournament of the season. The strong start to head coach Brennan Webb's ninth season has the Vols widely regarded as a top-10 team nationally.
While Tennessee has previously had individual competitors in the Cullan Brown Collegiate, 2026 will mark the first time that the Vols have competed in the event as a team.
TENNESSEE LINEUP:
Tyler Watts:
One of the top freshmen in the nation, Watts is set to make his much-anticipated Tennessee debut at the Cullan Brown Collegiate. Currently ranked No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, Watts missed the opening two tournaments of the collegiate season to compete for Team USA at the Walker Cup and at the PGA TOUR's Biltmore Championship Asheville, where he made the cut.
Jackson Herrington:
After a memorable sophomore campaign in 2025-26, Herrington has had a strong start to the Fall season. The Dickson, Tennessee, native has posted back-to-back top-20 finishes, tying for 18th place in the Vols' most recent outing at the Inverness Intercollegiate.
Rudy Sautron:
A highly touted transfer from Nebraska, Sautron has been as good as advertised to begin the Fall for Tennessee. The senior from Reunion Island has finished within the top six of Tennessee's first two tournaments this season, tying for sixth place at the Inverness Intercollegiate behind a 4-under-par 67 in round three, the joint-lowest round by any golfer in the field.
Pennson Badgett:
Badgett remains in the Tennessee lineup for the third consecutive tournament to open his collegiate career. The freshman opened the season with a top-15 finish at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, tying for 13th place behind three consecutive rounds of par or better.
Christian Pardue:
Pardue returns to the Tennessee lineup for the second time this Fall. At the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, the junior posted two rounds of par or better to help the Vols to the team title, including a 1-under-par 69 in round three.
Bruce Murphy (i):
Murphy will compete outside the team lineup as an individual this week. Despite a difficult start through two events this Fall, Murphy has consistently shown his quality over the past four seasons with the Vols, accumulating a 72.13 scoring average and 44 rounds of par or better.
Chase Kyes (i):
Another individual competitor, Kyes will make his second appearance of the Fall at the Cullan Brown Collegiate. The sophomore tied for 62nd place at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, highlighted by a 1-under-par 69 in round one.
Luke Smith (i):
Smith is the third individual and eighth total Vol competing at the Cullan Brown Collegiate this week. The Toronto native competed in the team lineup for Tennessee at the Inverness Intercollegiate, climbing to a tie for 26th after posting an impressive 1-under-par 70 in the final round of the event.
