XC Central: 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The No. 21 Tennessee women's cross country team caps the 2025 season on Saturday, competing at the NCAA Cross Country Championships along the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri. Additionally, Vol sophomore Zouhair Redouane will represent UT in the men's 10k as an individual qualifier to the national meet.
The women's championship 6k is scheduled for 10:20 a.m. ET, followed by the men's championship 10k at approximately 11:10 a.m. The 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships will be televised on ESPNU, and live results are available via PrimeTime Timing.
The Lady Vols punched their ticket to nationals with a second-place team finish last week at the NCAA South Region Championships, scoring 101 points with all five scorers inside the top-26 at the regional meet. Redouane earned his berth to the NCAA Championships with a seventh-place individual finish in Huntsville, qualifying as one of the top-four individuals on a non-advancing squad from the South Region.
BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK: The Lady Vols are set to make their third consecutive team appearance at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and second in a row under head coach Justin Duncan. It marks the most consecutive national berths for Tennessee on the women's side since qualifying for five-straight NCAA Championships from 2002-06.
RANKINGS UPDATE: After its strong showing at the regional meet, Tennessee vaulted from unranked to No. 21 in the latest installment of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings. The Lady Vols are also slotted No. 31 according to FloTrack's Division I women's team rankings.
PHENOMENAL FRESHMAN: Lady Vol rookie Mary Nyaboke Ogwoka has been phenomenal in her debut campaign on Rocky Top, earning top-10 finishes at all five meets this season as UT's low stick in each competition. The Kenyan international earned All-SEC and All-Region honors as a true freshman and was tabbed No. 40 on FloTrack's latest Women's Division I individual rankings.
RETURN TO THE NATIONAL STAGE: Redouane will make his second consecutive NCAA Cross Country Championship appearance and first as a Vol when he toes the line on Saturday in Columbia. As a true freshman last season at Cal Baptist, he earned All-America honors with a 26th-place finish in 29:18.8 – helping the CBU Lancers to a 13th-place team finish nationally.
UP NEXT: Saturday will mark the end of the 2025 collegiate cross country season. After the meet, Tennessee will turn its attention to indoor track & field, with the 2025-26 campaign set to begin Dec. 6 at the Winter Commodore Challenge in Nashville.
