The Tennessee Cross Country Course at Cherokee Farm is located north of the UT Day Golf Practice Facility to the east of Alcoa Highway across the Tennessee River from the school's main campus.
The Cherokee Farm campus served as the practice facility for the Vols for the 2014 and 2015 seasons before also being used as a race course in Fall 2016. Tennessee first competed on the course on Sept. 3, 2016, in a dual meet against UT Martin.
The race course has two loops, one of which is 2K and the other is 1K. The small loops make the course ideal for viewers, with runners having to pass the same point in the course at least three times before arriving at the finish line.
Work to secure a place to house the Tennessee men's and women's cross country teams began in the fall of 2013. Longtime senior associate athletics director/senior woman administrator Donna Thomas, who retired in 2019, led the drive to create the cross country practice and race course.
The course allows the University of Tennessee cross country teams to continue to build and compete on a national level.

From McGhee Tyson Airport: Take 129 North (Alcoa Hwy.) toward Knoxville. Take the Cherokee Farm Way exit. Turn left onto Cherokee Farm Way. Keep right to stay on Cherokee Farm Way which will circle underneath Alcoa Highway. Turn left onto Accelerator Way to find parking.
From I-40 east (from Nashville) and I-75 north (from Chattanooga): : Follow I-40 and I-75 to I-40/I-75 junction in west Knoxville. Continue on I-40 east to U.S. Highway 129 south. Take the Cherokee Farm Way exit. Turn right onto Cherokee Farm. Turn left onto Accelerator Way to find parking.
From I-40 west (from Asheville, N.C.): : Follow I-40 west to U.S. Highway 129 south. Take the Cherokee Farm Way exit. Turn right onto Cherokee Farm. Turn left onto Accelerator Way to find parking.
From I-75 south (from Lexington, Ky.): : Follow I-75 south to I-275 south just past Merchants Road. Follow I-275 to I-40 east. Continue on I-40 east to U.S. Highway 129 south. Take the Cherokee Farm Way exit. Turn right onto Cherokee Farm. Turn left onto Accelerator Way to find parking.
