VOLS TIED FOR SIXTH AFTER TWO ROUNDS AT SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Tennessee men's golf team stumbled Saturday and fell into a tie with LSU for sixth place at the SEC Championships held at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simon Island, Ga. The Volunteers finished the day 10-over-par and with a team score of 290. After two rounds the Big Orange have a scorecard of 286-290--576.
Freshman Chris Paisley paced the Vols as he fired a 2-under-par 68 and jumped 14 spots to finish the day in a tie for fifth. His second-round 68 is his lowest round of golf this spring, bettering the 72 he fired in the first round.
Tino Weiss followed behind Paisley. Weiss finished with a 4-over-par 74 and sits tied for 18th.
Jonathan Mount finished 5-over-par and finds himself tied for 33rd place with a scorecard of 71-75--146.
Charlie Ford was next for the Volunteers. Ford improved on his first-round score with a 3-over-par 73 and is in a tie for 35th place.
Sophomore Ben Spickard rounded out the Tennessee lineup. Spickard fired a 15-over-par 85 and is in 59th place with a scorecard of 75-85--160.
Alabama's Matthew Swain fired a second round 3-under-par to overtake the lead in the individual standings. Following three strokes back in second are Georgia's Kevin Kisner and Florida's Brett Stegmaier. LSU's Andrew Lanahan is alone in fourth at 1-under-par, while seven players are tied at even-par for fifth.
Georgia retains their day-one lead with a team score of 276-282--558. Florida is only one stroke back in second with a team scorecard of 285-274--559. Alabama is three strokes back in third. Kentucky and Auburn round out the top five.
