The Tennessee men's tennis team dropped its second straight SEC match Sunday, losing to Auburn 5-2 at the Luther Young Tennis Complex to fall to 8-6 and 2-4 in the SEC.
The Vols dropped the doubles point to start the match off in a hole. The Tigers won at No. 1 and 2 doubles to capture the point. Adam Hubble and Ben Rogers, ranked 24th in the most recent Fila Rankings, lost at No. 1 doubles to end their seven-match win streak.
In singles play the Tigers ran off three quick singles victories to capture the match.
Rogers gave Tennessee its first point of the match with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Milan Krnjetin at the No. 4 singles position. Rogers is now 5-5 in dual matches this season, and 7-9 overall.
Kiril Tcherveniachki won at No. 3 singles 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 over Nick Lane for Tennessee's other singles victory.
Tennessee returns to the friendly confines of the Goodfriend Indoor Tennis Center, where it is undefeated, next weekend when it faces Vanderbilt on Friday and Kentucky on Sunday. All UT home matches are free to the public.
