Members of the Tennessee's men's tennis team could not duplicate the success it enjoyed earlier this weekend Sunday, as they dropped both of their matches to end their stay at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.
"We obviously had a disappointing final day in the tournament" UT associate head coach Chris Mahony said. "But we can't let that overshadow the fact that we got a lot of invaluable matches over the tournament."
UT sophomore Matt Berry who has been red hot all fall lost only his third match of the season. Brett Hunter of Auburn defeated Berry in the Flight B singles final 6-3, 7-5.
Tennessee's David Baxendine and Kiril Tcherveniachki lost to Virginia's Darrin Cohen and Stephen Rozek 8-4 in the semifinals of the doubles competition.
The Vols return to action Thursday when they participate in the ITA Regional Indoor Championships in Memphis
"We can build on [this weekend's experience] as we go into the ITA Regional Indoor Championships." Mahony said.
