Vols Set to Host Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions

The No. 3 ranked Tennessee men's golf team will play host to the 14th annual Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions from Oct. 22-23. The tournament will be held at Cherokee Country Club (par 72, 6,307 yards).
This year's Tournament of Champions field will include five teams ranked in Golfweek's Top 25, including No. 3 Tennessee, No. 15 Toledo, No, 17 College of Charleston, No. 9 Auburn and No. 24 Alabama.
Other teams competing include, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Louisiana at Lafayette, Louisville, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
The top two finishers from last year's Coca-Cola TOC will also be making a return trip to Knoxville. LSU won the tournament with a 281-283-287--851, beating out second-place Virginia (856) by five strokes. The Vols finished third by firing rounds of 292-286-286--864.
Competing for the Vols will be seniors Jason Powell, Andrew Black and Jimmy White, juniors Ian Parnaby and Andrew Pratt and freshman David Skinns. Parnaby and Skinns are both coming off fifth place finishes at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, which helped lead the Vols to a second place finish. Jason Powell and Ross McGowan will be competing for individual honors.
The tournament format will consist of 56 holes to be played over two days, with 36 holes to be played on Oct. 22 and 18 holes to be played on Oct. 23. Admission is free and open to the public.
