AS A FRESHMAN (2005): Appeared in four matches... Saw time against SEC foes Mississippi State and LSU during the regular season...Also got in matches against No. 25 Wake Forest and No. 6 Virginia in the NCAA Tournament, even starting the second half against the Cavaliers...Did not record a shot on the year.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Guided her Kingwood team to the 2004 Texas State 5A semifinals, three district 22-5A championships (2003, 2004, 2005) and a Region 3 5A title in 2004 with a 24-2-2 record...Selected as a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American in 2004 as well as NSCAA All-Southwest Region...A two-time all-district choice (2004, 2005), Mia also garnered a selection to the 2005 Region 3 Senior Showcase squad...Served as team captain during her senior season in 2005.
PERSONAL: Majoring in arts and sciences...A member of the National Honor Society, Spirit Crew, French Club and the Beta Club at Kingwood H.S....Was on the Principal[apos]s Honor Roll from 2001-2005 and was in the top 5% of her class...Picked up a National Student Leadership Award and an Economics Excellence Award...Also served as the girls[apos] cross country manager...Considers former UT and current Indianapolis Colts All-Pro quarterback Peyton Manning as her biggest sports influence because of his work ethic, preparation and desire for perfection...Boasts a grandfather, mother, seven aunts and uncles and 13 cousins on a list with ties to UT...Her uncle John Hammett, Jr., was a baseball letterman in 1968, while another uncle, Tom Hammett, was in the baseball letterman class of 1974...Has an older sister, Tiffany Boyd-Hodgson, 32 and an older brother, Ben, 29...Marilyn Irene Boyd was born Aug. 16, 1987, in Austin, Texas.....Her parents are Ben and Donna Boyd.
