HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Molly joins the Lady Vol program as a decorated soccer player as well as an outstanding student at Lakota East H.S....Buns participated for three seasons with the Lakota East soccer squad, one on the varsity, and spent two years in the role of captain...She earned two letters as a swimmer and even spent a year in the concert band as a flutist...Buns helped guide her 2004 varsity soccer team to a district championship with a 14-4-2 mark and led them to a second-place finish in the Holland Cup in Amsterdam, the Netherlands...As a four-year captain of the Cincinnati United Premier club team, she traveled to 14 states to contest soccer matches...
PERSONAL: Majoring in mechanical engineering...The National Honor Society member was bestowed academic honors throughout her prep career including Awards of Excellence in English, Piano, U.S. History and Government...The 2004 All-Academic selection was a silver medalist in the National Latin Exam and received honors in the National Spanish Exam and the Rose-Hulman Mathematics Contest...Was also a member of Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, Spanish Club, the Student Government, and Young Life...Lists former U.S. National Team member Michelle Akers as the athlete she has modeled herself after because she always gives 110%...Has a younger sister; Abigail 'Abby', 12...Molly Caroline Buns was born December 3, 1986, in Cincinnati, Ohio....Her parents are Edward and Lori Buns.
