2001: A reserve outfielder who played in 28 games, making 11 starts (six in center field and five in right field) ... Hit .250 with six RBI ... Had a pinch hit single that helped start UT?s five-run eighth-inning rally for 6-3 win in the Super Regional to send Vols to the College World Series ... Went 1-for-4 with one RBI in the CWS ... Made the most of his first start at Western Carolina 3/27, going 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored ... Went 4-for-8 as a pinch hitter ... Missed a month and a half at the beginning of the season with a broken hand ... Came off the bench to go 2-for-2 versus Alabama 4/13 ... Collected three RBI in the Georgia series ... Hit .167 against left-handers, .262 against right-handers, .211 with runners in scoring position and had two two-out RBI.
2000: Gained medical hardship after missing most of the season with a broken hand, seeing action in 12 games ... Made one start in left field and one as the DH ... Hit .143 with a double, five runs scored and three RBI ... Got first hit at Hawaii-Hilo 2/8 ... Had a two-run double and stole a base against Appalachian State 2/26 ... Also drew three walks and played error-free in the field.
JEFFERSON STATE CC: Attended Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, Ala., where he was a two-time all-region selection ... Hit .388 in career with 17 home runs, 100 RBI and 44 stolen bases ... Got hit by a pitch 31 times ... As a sophomore in 1999, he led team for second straight year with a .401 average, with 8 home runs and 48 RBI ... Collected 10 doubles with a triple while getting hit by a pitch 21 times and swiping 24 bases ... As a freshman he was the leading hitter with a .375 average and set school RBI record with 52 ... Slugged 9 home runs with 10 doubles and 3 triples while stealing 20 bases ... He also played in the 1998 Junior College All Star game ... Coached by Ben Short.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Chelsea High School in Chelsea, Ala., where he was a three-time all-county selection while leading team in hitting as a junior and senior with .474 and .446 averages respectively ... Hit .431 in his career with 5 home runs, 74 RBI while stealing 51 bases and drawing 91 walks with only 8 strikeouts ... Also earned all-county honors in football ... Coached by David Calhoun.
