PREVIEW: Lady Vol Golf Heads North to Canadian Collegiate Invitational

The Tennessee women's golf team is set for its second of four Fall tournaments this week, heading north of the border to compete at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational.
The two-day tournament will begin with 36 holes on Monday before the third and final round takes place on Tuesday. Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario, will host the event. The par-72 course will play at 6,233 yards this week.
2026 will mark the second annual Canadian Collegiate Invitational. Tennessee competed in the inaugural edition last Fall, finishing in fifth place among the 12-team field. The landmark event in 2025 was the first-ever NCAA women's golf tournament to be held in Canada.
The Lady Vols opened the 2026-27 season on a strong note earlier this month at the Cougar Classic. Tennessee closed the event in second place, shooting 6-under-par as a team. It was the team's second consecutive runner-up placement in the tournament; the Lady Vols also began the historic 2025-26 campaign with a second-place finish at the Cougar Classic.
In addition to the team lineup competing in Canada, freshman An Le Chuc will take part in the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational as an individual participant. The two-day event held over the same timeframe will take place at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

Sophie Christopher
After a Spring of consistent improvement for Tennessee, Christopher picked up where she left off to begin the Fall at the Cougar Classic. The junior was the Lady Vols' low scorer in the season-opening tournament, firing a 5-under-par 54-hole score to tie for second place individually. It was Christopher's fifth top-20 finish dating back to the beginning of the calendar year.
Sofie Engesæth
Engesæth was consistent across three rounds to help Tennessee to a runner-up team finish at the Cougar Classic. After a 2-over-par 73 in round one, she fired back-to-back rounds of par or better to close the event at 1-over-par. With a tie for 22nd place, Engesæth opened the season with her fifth career top-25 finish.
Tanjira Issaraphon
Issaraphon is set to make her collegiate debut after missing out on the lineup at the Cougar Classic. The freshman from Chonburi, Thailand, boasts an impressive junior golf resume. She is the 2026 Philippine Ladies Open champion, a Thailand National Team qualifier, and the 2025 Singha Thailand Ladies Amateur Open champion.
Kyra Van Kan
Another absentee from the Cougar Classic lineup, Van Kan is set to make her season debut in Canada. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native had a phenomenal sophomore season in 2025-26, resulting in Third Team All-America and Second Team All-SEC honors. Statistically, Van Kan set new program records for single-season scoring average (71.00) and rounds of par or better (21) in 2025-26.
Martina Lopez-Lanchares
After a spring season derailed by injury, Lopez-Lanchares is back in the lineup for Tennessee. The senior's highest individual finish in the 2025-26 season came at the inaugural Canadian Collegiate Invitational, where she tied for 19th place at 2-over-par.
Madison Messimer (i)
Competing as an individual this week in Canada, Messimer finished in the top-half of the field individually to open the season at the Cougar Classic, closing the tournament at 4-over-par. The sophomore is looking to return to her 2025-26 form, a season which garnered SEC Freshman of the Year, First Team All-SEC, and Honorable Mention All-American honors.
