April 17, 2026 | Rowing
PRINCETON, N.J. -- The fourth ranked Tennessee rowing team is back in action this week as it heads up north to match-up with a trio of top ten programs this weekend. The Lady Vols head up to New Jersey for an event hosted by No. 6 Princeton, that also features No. 3 Yale and No. 8 Virginia on Carnegie Lake.
Â
All races will be streamed on ESPN+. The four-team field will be a significant test for the Lady Vols in their final regular season contest before getting into postseason action. All four teams competing in the regatta finished in the top ten at the 2025 NCAA Championships, with Yale and Tennessee both placing in the top five.
Â
Races get underway at 9 a.m. ET with the first varsity four competition, with each event taking place in 15-minute intervals. Following the first varsity four, the order of each fixture includes the first varsity eight, second varsity eight, third varsity eight, second varsity four, and third varsity four.
Â
Last week, Alex Pidgeon and Frida Werner Foldager earned conference weekly honors. Pidgeon was named the SEC Rower of the Week, while Werner Foldager took Freshman of the Week honors. This came after both athletes helped lead the first varsity eight crew that won all three of its races at the Rocky Top Invite. The pair played a vital role in wins over four ranked teams over the weekend, culminating in a finals win that helped secure the team trophy at the Rocky Top Invite.
