ATHENS, Ga. -- On the final day of the Zone B Diving Championships, two male divers qualified in the platform event. Tennessee divers Owen Redfearn and Bennett Greene have punched their tickets in the event to move on to NCAA Championships later this month.
Â
Redfearn put of two phenomenal performances in prelims and finals, finishing with a combined score of 776.00 to place third. This marks Redfearn's first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships in his collegiate career. In finals, the senior finished with a score of 403.30, to achieve a new personal best and moved him up to sixth all-time in program history
Â
For Greene, he finished his week by qualifying in his third event for NCAAs after earning a spot in both the 1-meter and 3-meter earlier this week. Greene placed sixth in the platform, thanks to a combined score across prelims and finals of 738.05. This is the second consecutive year that Greene has featured in all three disciplines after doing so in his freshman season last year. Greene earned All-America status in both the 1-meter and 3-meter at the 2025 NCAA Championships.
Â
Nick Stone and Thomas Ciprick also made an appearance in finals for the Vols in the platform. Stone came just short of earning his place in the national meet (top seven qualified), placing eighth with a combined score of 732.60. Stone also put up a personal best in finals, finishing with a 397.90 to put him sixth all-time. After qualifying earlier in the week in both the 1-meter and the 3-meter, he needed to finish within the top 12 in the platform to qualify. Ciprick would just miss out on that opportunity, placing 18th in the platform event.
Tennessee finishes the week with six divers heading to NCAA Championships. On the women's side, Desharne Bent-Ashmeil and Lynae Shorter will both take on the 1-meter and 3-meter for the Lady Vols. Four divers will travel to the championship meet later this month for the men, with the quartet of Bennett Greene, Thomas Ciprick, Frazer Tavener, and Owen Redfearn heading to Atlanta, Georgia.
