Traunard Folson Equals 60-Meter NCAA Lead At Tyson Invitational
February 13, 2026 | Track & Field
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Tennessee redshirt junior sprinter Traunard Folson equaled his NCAA-leading time of 6.49 seconds in the men's 60-meter dash on Friday, headlining a strong opening day for the Big Orange at the Tyson Invitational. Folson finished runner-up in the championship final, trailing only adidas professional and 2025 Bowerman Award winner Jordan Anthony, who posted a world-leading 6.43.
Folson's performance matched the lifetime best he set in his 2026 season opener at the Clemson Invite on Jan. 10 and now ranks second on the world indoor leaderboard this season. His time also tied the No. 12 performer in collegiate history and made Folson just the sixth sprinter in NCAA history to record multiple sub-6.50 performances in the 60 meters during a collegiate career.
Tennessee added another NCAA top-five result in the women's 60-meter hurdles, as redshirt senior Myreanna Bebe captured the championship title with a season-best time of 7.98 seconds. Her mark currently ranks second nationally for the 2026 indoor season and 22nd in the world.
In the men's pole vault, newcomer Ismaila Sawaneh secured a runner-up finish in the championship section, clearing 5.65 meters (18-6.25) — just one centimeter shy of his personal best. He led a group of four Volunteers in the event, with Blake Sifferlin placing sixth at 5.55m (18-2.5), Evan Puckett finishing eighth at 5.45m (17-10.5), and Clarke Byram ninth at the same height.
Tennessee also logged four personal-best performances that cracked the program's all-time top-10 lists. Senior Andrew Brown moved to sixth in school history in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.29, while junior Carter Knox posted an indoor career-best 1:49.08 in the 800 meters to rank eighth all-time at Tennessee. On the women's side, Cedricka Williams climbed to No. 5 in program history in the weight throw with a mark of 20.37 meters (66-10), and Skye Tolbert clocked 8.19 in the 60-meter hurdles to tie for No. 10 on the Lady Vols' all-time list.
