September 20, 2025 | Soccer
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The No. 5/6 Tennessee soccer team is set to take on LSU Sunday at 2 p.m. ET for its first home SEC match.Â
Sunday's match between the Lady Vols and tigers will be streamed on SEC Network+.Â
Admission is free for all preseason and regular-season soccer matches. For fans planning to attend, note that Tennessee's clear bag policy will be in effect again this season. Regal Soccer Stadium will be a cashless venue for both concessions and the VolShop this season as well.Â
Last time out, the Big Orange defeated Missouri 2-0 on the road behind Kate Runyon's first career multi-goal performance. The result marked eight shutouts in just nine matches on the season.Â
MATCHUP HISTORY:Â Tennessee holds a 14-5-5 all-time record against LSU. The Lady Vols are 8-0-2 against the Tigers in Knoxville. The last meeting between the programs took place in Baton Rouge during the 2023 season with LSU coming out on top, 1-0.
LOCKDOWN DEFENSE:Â The Tennessee backline has become a consistent force combined with Sophomore goalie Cayden Norris. Defenders Ally Brown, Leah Klurman, Kennedy Price and Sydney Miller have helped secured seven consecutive shutouts to start the season. Additionally, throughout nine matches, the UT defense has secured eight clean sheets.
FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS:Â Through nine matches, UT has nine goal-scorers, including five Lady Vols who have scored two or more goals in a single match. Shae O'Rourke, Anaiyah Robinson and Kate Runyon have registered braces for the Big Orange as Alivia Stott fired five goals against EKU--the stretch marked the most goals ever scored in one half in program history and the shortest span in which a Tennessee player has tallied five goals. Each of her five goals was assisted by a different Lady Vol.Â
SCOUTING THE TIGERS: LSU (5-4-1) is coming off a 2-1 loss to Alabama after falling short in the 83rd minute. LSU had a three-match win streak at home prior to tonight's result. Junior forward Ava Galligan is the Tigers leading scorer with five on the year thus far.Â
UP NEXT: Tennessee will host Texas A&M at 7 p.m. ET Friday.Â
