Greene Tabbed SEC Male Diver of the Week
November 04, 2025 | Swimming & Diving, Men's Swimming & Diving
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Following a pair of wins at the double dual against Auburn and Louisville, sophomore Bennett Greene was named the SEC Male Diver of the Week on Tuesday.
Greene continued his strong start to the 2025-26 season last week, taking wins in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard competitions. Greene improved his seventh-best overall score in the 1-meter competition, eclipsing the 400-mark for the first time in his collegiate career with a 400.80. He also put up a 402.40 in the 3-meter event to pick up his second win of the meet.
Greene has now won three of his first four competitions of the season. Greene entered the season coming off an impressive freshman campaign where the Knoxville-native took bronze in the 3-meter springboard at the SEC Championships, becoming the first Tennessee freshman to win a medal in the event since Liam Stone won gold in 2015. Greene also captured All-American honors in both the 1- and 3-meter events. Greene's 13th place finish in 1-meter diving at last season's NCAA Championships made him the first Vol to finish in the top 16 since Matthew Wade in 2021 and first freshman since Wage back in 2019.
This marks Greene's first conference weekly honor of the season and fifth SEC Male Diver of the Week recognition of his career.
Up next, Greene and Tennessee are back in action from Nov. 20-22 as it hosts the UT Diving Invitational. On the swimming side, Tennessee is next in action from Nov. 21-23, as it hosts the CSCAA Power Dual Meet Challenge
