Kubik Selected Third Overall by San Diego Mojo in 2025 MLV Draft

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee senior outside hitter Hayden Kubik was selected by the San Diego Mojo with the third overall pick in the 2025 Major League Volleyball Draft on Monday afternoon.
This marks the third consecutive year a Lady Vol has been selected in the draft, while Kubik also becomes the fourth Lady Vol to be selected. Morgahn Fingall and Jenaisya Moore were both selected in the 2023 draft, while Nina Cajic was taken in the 2024 draft.
Major League Volleyball, which began in February of 2024, is the premier women's professional volleyball league in North America. Kubik and the Mojo will begin the 2026 season on January 8, taking on the Omaha Supernovas.
Kubik has been the top attacker for the Lady Vols all season. The First Team All-SEC selection leads the team in all major offensive categories, including kills (353), kills per set (4.20), points (391.0), and points per set (4.65). One of the top hitter in the SEC, Kubik ranks top ten in the conference in both kills per set and points per set. The West Des Moines, Iowa native has had 22 matches with 10-plus kills, including reaching the double-figure threshold in 16 consecutive matches. Kubik tallied a career-high 27 kills against LSU on Oct. 3, reaching 20 or more kills in three matches this season.
Also successful as a back row defender, Kubik is third on the team with 186 digs and has six double-doubles on the 2025 campaign. Kubik has also had success in the service game, sitting third on the team with 22 aces. Her 0.26 aces per set this season ranks third in program history among seniors since the start of the 25-point rally scoring in 2008. Kubik had led the team in aces in nine matches this season, a season-high three against Rider back on Sept. 18.
