KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Another addition to the Tennessee volleyball roster is official, as Kansas transfer Libero Raegan Burns has signed with the Lady Vols. Burns brings high-level experience to the roster, starting for two seasons for the Jayhawks.
Â
"We are thrilled to welcome Raegan Burns to our Lady Vol volleyball program", said head coach Eve Rackham Watt. "She is a player with tremendous experience at a very high level and has won a lot of matches in her career. We believe she is an elite serve receiver with great defensive instincts. Our staff is excited to have her join us this summer and believe she will continue to develop in our program."
Â
Burns comes to Rocky Top after three seasons at Kansas. In her three seasons, she finished with 756 digs, 246 assists, and 31 aces. In her freshman season in 2023, Burns earned All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors after notching a team-leading 374 digs, while ranking second on the team with 107 assists. The Lafayette, Indiana native, reached double-figure digs in 23 games, including setting a career high with 28 against Texas Tech on Sept. 22, 2023.
Â
Burns followed that up with another stellar season in 2024, where she picked up 372 digs on a 3.44 digs per set average. She finished her sophomore campaign once again ranking second on the team in assists with 135 and was fourth on the team in aces with 18. She posted double figure digs in 19 matches in 2024, reaching 20 or more digs in five contests.
Â
Before her collegiate career, Burns starred at McCutcheon High School. While at McCutcheon, she was a two-time First Team All-State selection in 2021 and 2022. She garnered Max Preps All-American honors in both 2021 and 2022 and was also an AAU Academic All-American. In her prep career, she helped McCutcheon High School to four conference championships, two regional championships, a semi-state championship and a state championship.
Â
Burns adds to an impressive list of transfers for the Lady Vols to the 2026 roster. Jalyn Stout joined the program from Coastal Carolina, where she became the NCAA leader in career triple-doubles with 46. Kennedi Rogers joins the roster from SMU, where the rising sophomore earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors after finishing with 175 kills on a .272 hitting percentage. Nia Hall brings SEC experience to the roster in 2026 after starting for South Carolina a season ago. Hall led the Gamecocks with 273 kills last season and averaged 3.07 kills per set.
