#9 Vols Drop Saturday Afternoon Dual Against #2 Arizona State

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The #9 Tennessee men's swimming team came up just short in its winner's bracket match up against #2 Arizona State on Saturday, dropping the dual 11-33 at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Gui Caribe was once again an important piece to the Vols effort. Caribe earned wins in both the 50 and 100 Free. In the 50 Free, Caribe put up a blistering time of 18.47. Caribe came with another fast time in the 100 Free, touching the wall in 40.91.
Koby Bujak Upton kept up his strong weekend, winning the 500 Free. Bujak-Upton put up a time of 4:17.40, putting the redshirt freshman ninth in program history in the event. Bujak-Upton also earned a second place finish in the 200 Free with a time of 1:31.56.
Anthony Laurito improved his top 10 time in the 200 IM. with sophomore finishing with a time of 1:45.11. Martin Espernberger notched a second place finish for Tennessee in the 200 Fly, checking in with a time of 1:41.93.

Up next, the men compete again in the CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge later tonight at 6 p.m. The Vols will await the winner of the Michigan-Virginia dual slated for 3 p.m. The dual later this evening will also be streamed on SEC Network+.

- Nikoli Blackman finished in third place in the 200 Free, clocking in with a time of 1:32.64.
- Ben Bricca and Nick Simons finished the 200 Back in second and third. Bricca checked in with a 1:42.20, while Simons hit the wall at 1:42.78.
- Freshman Gabe Nunziata had a strong performance in the 200 Breast, earning a third place finish with a time of 1:53.73
