Jansen & Greene Garner SEC Weekly Honors

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- After a dominating performance in the final dual meet of the regular season, a pair of Tennessee swimming and diving student athletes have garnered SEC weekly honors. Ella Jansen was named the SEC Women's Swimmer of the Week, with Bennett Greene earning SEC Men's Diver of the Week.
Jansen earns her first SEC Women's Swimmer of the Week honor of the season after an outstanding outing against the Blue Devils, helping secure three wins for the Lady Vols in the dual. Jansen set a personal best time of 1:52.88 en route to win in the 200 Fly. That time allowed the sophomore to climb of the Tennessee record books, moving to third all-time. Jansen also took first place in the 400 IM, with a time of 4:02.50. Jansen held the clear advantage in the race, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of the second place finisher, and 12 seconds ahead of third place. Both time rank in the top ten nationally, with the 400 IM the fourth-fastest time in Division I and her 200 Fly time ranking seventh.
For Greene, he earns his third SEC Diver of the Week recognition this season after sweeping the diving events in the dual against Duke. Greene took wins in both he 1-meter and 3-meter on Friday, giving him 12 total wins on the season. In the 3-meter, Greene finished with a score of 432.55, moving the Knoxville-native to eighth in program history in the event. This continues to be a strong season for the second-year diver. One of the top ranked divers in the country, Greene ranks third nationally in the 1-meter and fourth in the 3-meter this season. Greene took home the gold medal earlier this season in the 1-meter at the USA Diving Winter Nationals, becoming the first Tennessee diver to win gold at the competition since Colin Zeng in 2017.
