Preview: #8/#11 Tennessee Caps Regular Season Hosting Dual Meet Against Duke

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- #8/#11 Tennessee swim and dive hosts its final dual meet of the season, as it welcomes #20/NR Duke to the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. This meet will also serve as the team's senior day, with eight student-athletes being recognized during the meet. The meet is slated to begin at 11 a.m. The two programs met last season in Durham, with the Vols and Lady Vols coming away with the victory.
Admission is free for the dual meet, with door scheduled to open at 10 a.m. The clear bag policy is in effect during the meet for all fans. Parking will be available in Lot SC40 off Kingston Pike near Tyson Park. Live stats will be available on Meet Mobile, with the dual also streamed live on SEC Network+.
The Lady Vols come into the meet after a dominating performance last time out at Georgia. Emily Brown set the school record in the 200 Fly, with a time of 1:52.39. Brown also etched her name in the top ten in UT history in the 200 IM, putting up a 1:55.02 to move into sixth all-time. Camille Spink logged a first place finish in the 100 Free, while Ella Jansen took the win in the 200 Free. Mizuki Hirai made her debut with the Lady Vols, notching her first collegiate win in the 100 Fly and moving into seventh in program history in the event with a 51.49. Simone Moll got the win for Tennessee in the 100 Breast, while Regan Rathwell also stood atop the podium in the 100 Back. Desharne Bent-Ashmeil and Lynae Shorter each earned wins on the diving side for Tennessee. Bent-Ashmeil got the win in the 1-meter, with Shorter following that up with a win in the 3-meter for the Lady Vols.
Gabe Nunziata had a strong day for the men, earning wins in both the 100 and 200 Breast in the dual. Ulises Saravia moved up in the top ten in a pair of events for the Vols, moving to second all-time in the 100 Back (44.89) and seventh all-time in program history in the 200 Back (1:41.21). Gui Craibe picked up another win this season in the 50 Free, going sub-19.00 once again with an 18.93. Pedro Sansone and Nikoli Blackman went 1-2 in the 100 Free for the Vols and were also members of the 400 Free Relay team along with Caribe and Kamal Muhammad that won the event in Athens. Bennett Greene led the way on the diving side for the Vols, sweeping both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions.
This meet caps off the regular season for the Big Orange. Following this meet, the Vols and Lady Vols get into their postseason schedule. The postseason gets underway from Feb. 16-21, as Tennessee host the SEC Championships.
