#19 Lady Vols Corral Arkansas En Route to 13th Sweep of Season

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The #19 Tennessee volleyball team enjoyed a complete team performance to stymie visiting Arkansas as it picked up its 13th sweep of the 2025 campaign on Friday night at Food City Center (25-18, 25-15, 25-15).
The Lady Vols (18-6, 9-5 SEC) finished the night with 48 kills on a .462 hitting percentage, with assists on 46 of the 48 kills in the match. On defense, Tennessee used 12 blocks and 40 digs to hold Arkansas (5-20, 1-13 SEC) to just 31 kills and a .135 hitting percentage in the win.
Hayden Kubik led the way with 13 kills, while tying her season high with a .500 hitting percentage for her 20th double-digit kills game of the season. Sydney Jones notched her first double figure kill effort as a Lady Vol, finishing with 12 kills and a pair of blocks.
Caroline Kerr picked up her 15th 30-plus assists game of the year with 39, adding five digs and three blocks. Chelsea Sutton led the team with six blocks, while contributing six kills to eclipse the 250-kill mark for her career. Klaudia Pawlik posted a season-high five blocks while adding six kills to her stat line as well. Maggie Dostic and Gülce Güçtekin led the team with seven digs on Friday night. Sydney Jaynes went over the 100-dig threshold for her career with six.
The Big Orange came out firing in the first set, building a 10-4 advantage. The Razorbacks would fight back to get within one, but a 4-1 run for Tennessee gave it the early 1-0 set lead. Sutton got her night started with five kills while also leading the team with two blocks. Kerr opened play with 15 assists as Tennessee finished the first set with 16 kills on .364 hitting. Güçtekin had five digs while the defense held Arkansas to a .182 hitting percentage and 11 kills.
After starting the second back and forth, Tennessee would race out to an eight-point lead. The Lady Vols would extend the lead to ten as they secured the second frame win. Jones had a team-high six kills in the second stanza. The Tennessee defense quelled the Arkansas attack once again in the second, holding it to 11 kills again and a paltry .083 hitting percentage. Four blocks by Sutton led the Tennessee defensive effort in the set.
Tennessee closed the match assisting 15 of its 17 kills. Kerr paced the Lady Vols with 12 of the 15 assists that saw four Tennessee players finish with three or more kills. Kubik led the way with six kills, with Jones adding 5 while the duo of Pawlik and Starr Williams had three each.
