
#8 Lady Vols Rout Wildcats to Wrap Fall Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The eighth-ranked Lady Vol swimming & diving team capped the fall slate with a commanding 200-99 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats. The No. 11 Vols fell 173-127 but battled hard despite missing several key athletes to international competition.

The Tennessee women won all 14 of their races and swept five of the events during the dominant performance. Nine different swimmers won events for the Lady Vols, while Josephine Fuller, McKenzie Siroky and Camille Spink all won multiple individual races.

The Big Orange men won six events on the day. Martin Espernberger was the top performer, sweeping the butterfly races.

Women's Notables
- The Lady Vols swept the 100 free, 500 free, 100 back, 200 back and the 400 free relay events.
- Josephine Fuller led the UT sweep in the 100 free, clocking a 49.73 mark. She picked up her second victory of the day in the 100 fly, touching the wall in 54.24. She also added a third-place finish in the 200 fly.
- McKenzie Siroky swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 breast in a time of 1:00.43 and the 200 breast in 2:13.67.
- Camille Spink took first during the sweep of the 100 back, posting a mark of 54.02. She won her second individual event of the day with a 2:00.99 effort in the 200 IM.
- Julia Burroughs claimed the top time in the 50 free at 23.23, while Amber Myers recorded a pair of second-place efforts in the 50 free (23.37) and the 100 fly (56.30).
- In the distance freestyles, Lauren Wetherell clocked a 10:07.21 mark to win the 1,000 free for the Lady Vols, while Kate McCarville led a Big Orange sweep in the 500 free with a time of 4:51.92. She was followed by Julia Burroughs (4:56.33) and Wetherell (4:57.89) in second and third, respectively.
- Emily Brown won the 200 fly, touching the wall in 1:57.70, and took second in the 200 back (1:58.64).
- Brooklyn Douthwright finished first in the 200 free (1:49.44) and was second in the 100 free (50.35).
- Ella Jansen had the fastest time in the 200 back at 1:57.44 to lead the sweep. She also added a third-place finish in the 100 back.
- The Lady Vol 200 medley relay lineup of Josephine Fuller, McKenzie Siroky, Emily Brown and Julia Burroughs kicked off the racing with a dominant 1:39.26 effort—nearly four seconds faster than the Wildcats.
- The women concluded their dominant performance with a sweep in the 400 free relay. The squad of Emily Brown, Ella Jansen, Sara Stotler and Julia Burroughs led the way with a 3:23.23 effort. Camille Spink, Brooklyn Douthwright, Kate McCarville and Sophie Brison claimed second (3:26.28), while the lineup of Amber Myers, Lexi Stephens, Molly Blanchard and Laura Littlejohn took third (3:28.73).
- Maddie Reese was the top women's diver, finishing second on 1-meter with a score of 276.08 and third on 3-meter (277.88).
- Lexi Stephens posted a pair of podium finishes, taking second in the 100 back (54.13) and third in the 200 back (1:59.10).
- Sara Stotler took third in the 100 free (52.19) and 200 free (1:51.46).
Men's Notables
- Martin Espernberger swept the butterfly events, touching the wall in 47.28 in the 100 fly and 1:44.23 in the 200 fly.
- The Vols took first and second on the 1-meter springboard. Nick Stone recorded a personal-best effort, notching a score of 356.85 as three of his dives went for 60-plus points. Owen Redfearn rounded things out with a 319.05 mark. Stone was second on 3-meter (321.60), while Redfearn finished third. Both are slated to compete this weekend at the US Winter Nationals.
- In the men's 200 medley relay, the squad of Harrison Lierz, Kevin Houseman, Bjorn Kammann and Micah Chambers won with a time of 1:27.82. The 400 free relay lineup of Micah Chambers, Harrison Lierz, Jack Flanagan and Bjorn Kammann finished second with a time of 2:57.39.
- Bjorn Kammann won the 100 free with a time of 44.23, while Ben Bricca had the fastest mark in the 100 back at 48.73 followed by Harrison Lierz in second (48.81).
- In the men's breaststroke races, the Vols took second in both events, as Kevin Houseman clocked a 54.79 in the 100 breast, while Jed Garner went 2:00.41 in the 200 breast.
- Gus Rothrock recorded a second-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 1:49.13.
