KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Three program records were broken and 15 new top-10 times were recorded to conclude the 2024 Tennessee Invite at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Â
For the week, Tennessee set eight program records and posted a combined 44 new top-10 times/scores to highlight an impressive week of competition.
Â
Jordan Crooks set new heights once again, breaking the program record in the 100 free with a 40.26 effort - the fastest time in the nation to date this season by over a second. The 2024 Paris Olympian was a member of six program records that were set during the Tennessee Invite, with three of those being individual marks.Â
Â
Martin Espernberger had a dazzling performance in the 200 fly to post a new school record of 1:39.34 and win the event. Close behind Espernberger was Björn Kammann with a 1:40.75 to improve on his previous second-fastest time in school history, which was set during prelims.
Â
The men's 400 free relay squad of Gui Caribe, Micah Chambers, Nikoli Blackman and Crooks took home the win in record-setting fashion to close out the meet. The quartet set a new top program time of 2:44.13. Crooks anchored the group by swimming an outstanding sub-40 100 free split of 39.89. That group was not alone in etching their names into the record books, as Lamar Taylor, Pedro Sansone, Harrison Lierz and Kammann set the eighth-fastest mark in program history, touching the wall in 2:50.63.Â
Â
Camille Spink improved on her No. 2 time in program history in the 100 free with a blazing mark of 46.61 to win the event. This effort upgraded her nation-leading performance of 47.30 that was posted earlier this season. Jillian Crooks and Brooklyn Douthwright joined her on the leaderboards, with Crooks finishing fourth with a 48.68 effort and Douthwright placing sixth with a mark of 49.57.Â
Â
Emily Brown secured the third-fastest time in program history in the 200 fly with a 1:53.91, placing third overall in the event. Sara Stotler took second in the super final with a time of 1:54.82, while Ella Jansen followed with a fifth-place effort (1:56.16).
Â
The Vols added three other top-10 marks during the 100 free to go along with Crooks' school record. Chambers improved his time from prelims to move into fourth place in the record books with a 42.14 mark to take third in the event. Blackman threw down a 42.24 to place sixth in program history, and Taylor clocked a time of 42.31 during prelims to set the eighth-best time in the school record books. Caribe finished second in the event, touching the wall in 40.85 - the second-quickest time in the nation this season behind Crooks.
Â
The Lady Vol quartet of Spink, Josephine Fuller, Douthwright and Crooks set the fifth-fastest time in school history in the 400 free relay with a 3:12.00 to come in second overall.
Â
McKenzie Siroky made her mark in the Lady Vol record books for the 200 breast, garnering the sixth-best time in program history of 2:08.17 to place third. On the men's side, Jed Garner swam a third-place performance of 1:54.98 to move into the No. 8 slot in program history.

His performance was highlighted by an 85.80 score on his Back 1 1/2 Somersault 3 1/2 Twist Free for the first dive of his list. Bennett Greene took second thanks to a 343.15 mark.
