#4/7 Tennessee Pushes Win Streak to 12 with Run-Rule Win over Tennessee Tech

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The fourth-ranked Lady Vols softball team extended its win streak to 12 on Wednesday night as they run-ruled in-state foe Tennessee Tech 19-0 at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
The streak is UT's longest since winning 12 in a row between Feb. 22 and March 7 in 2021.
Tennessee (17-1) flexed its offensive muscle early and often, scoring four runs in the first and second innings before putting up five and six runs in the third and fourth, respectively. Over the last six games, the Lady Vols have scored four-plus runs in an inning on nine occasions.
The Big Orange also continued its domination of the Volunteer State, improving to 140-4 against in-state opponents.
True freshman Charli Orsini from Kellyville, New South Wales, Australia, made her first-career start for the Lady Vols on Wednesday, tossing three innings as she earned the first win of her career. The righty allowed just one hit on the night and struck out one.
Junior Ryleigh White came on in relief, throwing the final two innings of the game. The Sparta, New Jersey, native struck out three, walked one and gave up a pair of hits in the outing.
Ten Lady Vols collected a hit on the night, highlighted by the return of sophomore Lair Beautae who had a pair of base knocks and three RBIs in her first game of the season.
Freshman Camryn Sarvis went a career-best 2-for-2 at the plate against the Golden Eagles, driving in a career-high four RBIs.
Callie Piper suffered the loss Wednesday, falling to 1-7 on the year.
CROOKED NUMBERS
With Tennessee's 19-0 win Wednesday, it marks the sixth time it has scored double-digit runs in a game this season. It is also the third time UT has pushed 19-plus runs across the plate in a game this year.
LOWERING THE ERA
The Lady Vols' pitching staff lowered their NCAA-best ERA Wednesday night, dropping from 0.61 to 0.58.
