Scalise Finishes 39th At South Beach International Amateur

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Tennessee junior Lorenzo Scalise finished 39th at the 2016 South Beach International Amateur on Thursday at Miami Beach Golf Club. Fellow Vol Hunter Wolcott missed the cut following Tuesday's second round.
Danny Walker won with a 13-under 270. Phillip Barbaree (12-under), John Pak (11-under) and Graysen Huff (11-under) rounded out the top four.
Scalise finished at 2-under 281. He carded a 1-under 70 in the third round on Wednesday and shot 2-over 73 in Thursday's final round. Scalise finished strong following a rough start to the fourth round. After bogeys on the sixth, ninth and 12th and a double-bogey on the seventh, he posted three-straight birdies on holes 15-17.
Wolcott missed the cut with a 10-over 151 through the first two rounds.
Tennessee opens its 2017 spring schedule on Feb. 6 with the 9th Annual Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Verda Beach, Fla.
