Scalise, Wolcott Compete In South Beach International Amateur

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Tennessee's Lorenzo Scalise and Hunter Wolcott are in action this week at the 2016 South Beach International Amateur, which runs Dec. 19-22 at Normandy Shorts Golf Club and Miami Beach Golf Club. Through two rounds, Scalise is tied for 21st at 3-under and Wolcott is tied for 184th at 10-over.
The event features 209 amateur golfers from around the world. Monday's first round was at Normandy Shores Golf Club. Miami Beach Golf Club hosts the remaining three rounds.
Scalise is at 3-under 138 after two rounds. He was tied for fifth place after shooting a 4-under 66 in Monday's opening round at the par 70 Normandy Shores Golf Club. He enjoyed a bogey-free first round and made birdies on the second, third, 13th and 14th holes. On Tuesday, Scalise carded a 1-over 72 at Miami Beach Golf Club. He tallied three bogeys and two birdies on the front nine and made par from start to finish on the back nine.
Wolcott enters Wednesday's third round at 10-over 151. He carded a 2-over 72 in Monday's first round at Normandy Shores Golf Club, posting three birdies and five bogeys. On Tuesday, he shot 8-over 79 at Miami Beach Golf Club. Wolcott opened the day with a birdie on the 594-yard par 5 opening hole and was 1-over through the front nine. A triple bogey on No. 10 and five more bogeys to just one birdie on the back nine accounted for his high score.
