Conference Clash: Power Five Invitational
Brown, Coleman Dominate Day 1 of Conference Clash

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Felicia Brown posted personal bests in the 60 meters and the 200 meters and Christian Coleman clocked a PR in the 200 meters as Tennessee opened competition in the 2016 Conference Clash Power Five Invitational on Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
After the first day of competition the SEC team leads the team of the other Power Five schools on the men's side, 28-21. On the women's side, the Power Five leads the SEC, 28-24. Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt make up the SEC team. The Power Five team consists of Arizona, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Purdue, USC and Texas.
Nine Vols enjoyed season-best performances on Friday.
The Conference Clash resumes on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT/Noon ET with the men's pole vault, featuring Tennessee's Jake Blankenship, Ocean Walters-Carlson and Nate Harper, as well as the women's long jump, featuring Cidae'a Woods and Chyna Ries.
Tennessee Men
Coleman ran a career-best 20.94 in the men's 200-meter prelims to earn a spot in Saturday's final. That mark is tied for the third-fastest time in the nation this year.
Cameron Brown threw a season-best 22.36m (73-4.50) to take second place in the men's weight throw and score three points for the SEC. That throw also ranks second in the country.
Wesley Edwards placed fourth in the men's high jump, matching his career high of 2.10 meters (6-8.75), which he previously cleared at the 2015 SEC Championships.
Mustaqeem Williams made his individual debut in the 60 meters on Friday, placing 10th with a time of 6.84. Williams also ran his first collegiate 200 meters in 21.85.
Tennessee Women
Felicia Brown had the most impressive day at the Birmingham CrossPlex with PRs in the 60 meters and the 200 meters. She won her 60-meter heat with a time of 7.30 (sixth-fastest in the nation this year). Her time was the third-fastest in the prelims and she advances to Saturday's 60-meter final. Brown also ran the nation's fastest 200 meters at 23.13.
Kali Davis-White ran the second-fastest 200 meters of the day at a PR 23.25, the second-best mark in the country.
Maia McCoy ran a personal-best 7.54 in the 60-meter prelims and DeAndra Greer clocked a PR 25.05 in the 200 meters.
Savannah Marlow set a new PR in the women's weight throw, placing 10th with a throw of 16.99 meters (55-9.00).
