September 19, 2015 | Men's Golf
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Sophomore Lorenzo Scalise continues to climb the leaderboard as he shoots 3-under in the third round Saturday to move to 10-under in the Open D'Italia.
His bogey-free round paired with three birdies moves him into a tie for 23rd heading into the final round Sunday.
Scalise birdied the par-4, 427-yard fifth hole on the front nine, then birdied both par fives--holes 14 and 16--on the back nine.
Only one amateur, Scott Fernandez, sits above Scalise heading into Sunday. Fernandez is 11-under through three rounds.
Scalise is seven back of leaders Jens Fahrbring, Romain Wattel and Martin Kaymer, who all enter Sunday at 17-under.
Scalise begins his final round at 6:02 a.m. ET alongside England's Jason Barnes. The Golf Channel will tape delay the coverage of the final round, airing at 4 p.m. ET.
