Vols Continue Strong Play at Ping/Golfweek Preview

The No. 6 Tennessee men's golf team shot a 1-under-par 283 on Monday and remains in second place after the second round of the PING/Golfweek Preview Invitational at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
Oklahoma State extended their day-one lead to eight strokes with a 7-under-par 277. The Cowboys and Volunteers continue to be the only two teams under par for the tournament. Tennessee has an eight stroke over No. 12 Georgia and No. 11 Clemson who are tied for third at seven over par. Southern California is fifth at 10 over par. Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffman leads the individual standings by one stroke at 7 under par for the tournament.
The Volunteers continued strong play on the second day, finishing with two players in the top five and three in the top 15.
Sophomore Robin Wingardh shot the best round of the day for the Volunteers, a 4-under-par 67 and moved into second place in the individual standings. The Sweden native was four under through 10 before bouncing back and forth between a bogey on Nos. 14 and 16 and a birdie on No. 15. He finished his round with a birdie on 18.
Cameron Lawrence also remains in the top five with a 2-under-par 69 on Monday. The sophomore is tied for third with Oklahoma State's Rickie Fowler and Clemson's Kyle Stanley. Lawrence was four under through nine holes but bogeyed three of four holes from Nos. 10-13 to return to one under. A birdie on No. 14 put him at 2 under.
Junior David Holmes is tied for 12th, improving one stroke from Sunday with an even-par 72. Holmes played a consistent round with two birdies and two bogeys on the front and back nines.
Chris Paisley shot a 5-over-par 76 and is tied for 48th. The senior was three over through 10 holes and used birdies on Nos. 11 and 14 to get to one over before he bogeyed Nos. 15 and 16 followed by a double bogey on No. 17.
Freshman Darren Renwick is 11 over for the tournament after a 6-over-par 77 in the second round. He is tied for 55th with a scorecard of 76-77--153.
