Smith Falls in Semifinals at ITA Southeast Indoor Regionals

Tennessee sophomore tennis player John-Patrick Smith lost his semifinal match Monday at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Lexington, Ky., to finish his stay at this year's tournament.
Smith had his serve broken early in the first set by opponent Bruno Agostinelli and was not able to recover as the nation's 19th-ranked singles player captured the first set over the Vol, 6-2. In the second set, Smith fell behind 3-0 but rallied back to win the next three games at tie the set. The set was tied at five games apiece when Agostinelli was again able to break Smith's serve. The Wildcat went on win the set and the match, 6-2, 7-5.
Smith and the rest of the Vols return to action Nov. 1 when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for the Seminole Fall Invitational.
