Sandgren And Smith Fall In Doubles Final

Tennessee men???s tennis players Davey Sandgren and J.P. Smith dropped the championship match of the Division I bracket Monday at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships played in Athens, Ga.

The UT tandem fell to Amrit Narasimhan and Charlie Ramsay of Memphis 8-6 in the finals. Sandgren and Smith went 3-1 this weekend playing together for the first time.

Earlier, Sandgren and Smith defeated Georgia???s Travis Helgeson and Jaime Hunt 9-8 in the semifinals for their third straight victory.

The Volunteers return to action Saturday when they begin play in the Polo Ralph Lauren All-America Champions in Tulsa, Okla.
