Sandgren And Smith Advance to Semifinals

Tennessee men???s tennis players Davey Sandgren and J.P. Smith advanced to the semifinals of the Division I Doubles bracket Sunday at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga.

Sandgren and Smith advanced to the quarterfinals after their opponents in the round of 16 dropped out. In the quarterfinals, the UT duo defeated Jean-Yves Aubone and Clint Bowles 8-6. Sandgren and Smith face Georgia???s Travis Helgeson and Jaime Hunt in the semifinals Monday morning.

William Lang and Chris Racz dropped their Division II doubles match to College of Charleston???s Mickael Boyer and Joe Nicolazzi 8-5.

Matt Brewer and William Lang both fell in consolation singles matches on Sunday.
