Vols Versus Rebels In Tennis Finals

Tennessee men's tennis player Boris Conkic advanced to the championship match in singles and the final match in doubles with partner Davey Sandgren Saturday at the UNLV Fall Classic.

Conkic, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, defeated No. 1-seed and the 27th-ranked player in the nation Elliott Wronski 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 in the semifinals. The UT freshman will meet Luca Barlocchi of UNLV in the championship match. Barlocchi advanced after defeating UT's Sandgren 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the other semifinal match.

Conkic and Sandgren teamed up to win two matches in doubles Saturday. The UT pair got past Fresno Pacific's Matt Carroll and Vicente Joli 8-5 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Conkic and Sandgren defeated Chris Parkes and Joe Wood of New Mexico in the quarterfinals 8-6. The tandem faces UNLV's Wesley Burrows and Elliott Wronski in the championship match.
