Tennessee men's tennis player Chris Racz, the lone Vol remaining at the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships, begins play Thursday in the 64-man singles Main Draw.
??
Racz, ranked 84th in singles, faces Southern California's Kaes Van't Hof, ranked 43rd in singles, in the first round. The UT sophomore, one of eight players from the Southeastern Conference to make the Main Draw, received an automatic bid into the final portion of the All-Americans by winning the ITA Summer National Championships in Bloomington, Ind.
??
Davey Sandgren and J.P. Smith could not advance to the 32-team Main Draw in doubles. The UT duo fell to East Tennessee State's Enrique Olivares and Sebastian Serrano 8-2 in the third and final round of qualifying. Sandgren and Smith have still gotten off to a good start playing doubles together, the tandem advanced to the finals of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships last weekend.
