Vols Finish Up At ITA SE Regionals

The Tennessee men???s tennis team ended their stay at the ITA Southeast Indoor Regionals Sunday as no Vols were able to advance to the quarterfinals.

Freshman J.P. Smith advanced to the round of 16 in the singles bracket, defeating 76th-ranked Marc Rocafort of Middle Tennessee on the way. But the Australian native???s run ended against seventh-ranked Erling Tveit of Mississippi 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Smith had teamed up with Davey Sandgren in doubles and the duo had advanced to the round of 16 before falling to Mississippi???s Bram ten Berge and Matthias Wellermann 8-4.

The Vols return to action next weekend when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play in the Crimson Tide Championships.
