Ross McGowan Named Co-SEC Golfer of the Week

Tennessee golfer Ross McGowan was named Co-SEC Player of the Week for his performance at the Ashworth Collegiate Invitational. McGowan, a senior from Cheam Surrey, England, claimed second-place honors at the tournament, which was his highest career finish as a Vol. He shares the honor with Florida's James Vargas.
McGowan fired a 69-67-72--208 during the tournament. He has had a successful final campaign as a Vol with another top-10 finish to his credit earlier this year in the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions where he finished tied for third. Overall he is third on the team in scoring average with a 73.27.
McGowan has been an integral part in the success of the team this year in helping them to three tournament championships that have occurred at the Bank of Tennessee/Ridges Intercollegiate, Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions and Ashworth Collegiate Invitational.
The 15th-ranked Vols return to action, March 19-20, when they compete in the Schenkel/E-Z-Go Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.
