Former UT golfer Andrew Pratt captured the 2004 Tennessee State Amateur Championship Sunday at Hillwood Country Club in Nashville. Coupled with his recent Tennessee State Open title, Pratt becomes the first golfer in the history of the state to capture both titles in the same calendar year. Pratt, who played for the Vols from 1999-2003, shot a final round 65 to finish 11-under-par (277), winning the title by eight strokes over Braxton Hunter (285). "This is a tremendous accomplishment for Andrew to win both the State Amateur and the State Open in the same year," said UT head coach Jim Kelson. "I'm looking forward to watching his career develop in the coming years. We are extremely happy for Andrew and wish him all the best." As a senior, Pratt helped lead Tennessee to the 2003 NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Okla., following a fourth-place finish at the NCAA East Regional.
