Sophia joined the University of Tennessee Sports Medicine Staff in July 2024 as an Intern Athletic Trainer with the Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country teams.
Sophia is a New Jersey native and received a B.S in Exercise Science at Monmouth University where she was part of their Division I Swim Team. Following her Bachelors, she received a Masters of Athletic Training from Seton Hall University in 2023. As a student, Sophia gained clinical experience at various high schools and spent a year with Rutgers Football and Rutgers Wrestling.
In January 2024, Sophia accepted a position as the Olympic Sports Athletic Training Intern for the University of Michigan. There she provided coverage for all sports, with the most experience with their Softball, Lacrosse, Gymnastics, Swim and Dive and Men and Women’s Tennis teams. While at Michigan, Sophia represented the university as the Host Athletic Trainer for the Women’s Gymnastics NCAA Regional, Women’s Big Ten Tennis Tournament, Women’s Tennis NCAA Tennis Regional and Big Ten Track and Field Outdoor Championship.
