FALL SEASON
- Bounced back to defeat Furman's Georgie Walker and Ole Miss' Brooke Stevens after dropping a tough, three-set match in the opening round of the Debbie Southern Fall Classic
- Won six of her first eight matches in singles, including a 3-1 performance at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in the main draw and consolation matches
- Partnered with Ariadna Riley during the Ohio Valley Regional, where the duo advanced to the quarterfinals before falling the 13th-ranked duo of Mami Adachi and Akvile Parazinskaite from Kentucky, 8-3
- Went 6-1 in singles during dual-match play to improve her overall record to an impressive 12-4
- Began the spring season on a four-match winning streak in singles, starting with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 performance against ETSU's Jayde Viccars and was capped off by 7-6, 6-0 match against Anastasia Grosheva from Georgia State
- Paired up with fellow freshman Tenika McGiffin to down LSU's duo of Vasilyuk and Rabalais, 6-0, and helped the Lady Vols claim the doubles point against the Tigers
- Went on a three-match winning streak in doubles with Elizabeth Profit, defeating Alabama's Moulin and Gintrand, 6-3, Western Kentucky De Ugarte and Oest, 6-4, and Mississippi State's Lizariturry and Rentouli, 6-2
- Downed the duo of Fabian and Pelletier from Alabama, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point for Tennessee in the first round of the SEC Tournament against the Crimson Tide
- Helped the Lady Vols clinch the doubles point in their first-round matchup against Oregon in the NCAA Tournament, competing with McGiffin to defeat the duo of Lilien/Wagner, 6-4, on Court 3
PRIOR TO TENNESSEE
- Was rated as a five-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net and was the 43rd-ranked player in the country and the top player in the state of North Carolina
- Won the singles title at the Cary Tennis Park Classic in N.C.
- Competed in the Southern Cup for North Carolina
PERSONAL
- Chelsea Sawyer, daughter of Donna and Richard Sawyer, was born on November 24, 1998. She has a sister named Ashley.
- Winning an NCAA championship is her highest ambition while in college
- Chose UT because she knew it would be able to help her be successful on and off the court
- Lists her biggest thrill as being able to represent North Carolina in the Southern Cup
- Recipient of the Wayne Basler Women's Athletic Tennis Endowed Scholarship
