Former Lady Vol standout rower Sarah Arms returns to Tennessee for her ninth season as assistant coach with the Tennessee rowing program in 2020-21. Arms assumed recruiting coordinator responsibilities in 2014 and directs the program’s recruiting efforts.
Prior to returning to her alma mater, Arms spent four years as the head coach at Smoky Mountain Rowing Center. While promoting rowing throughout East Tennessee, she recruited new rowers to the program, created training plans and coached juniors through masters on the water.
During her collegiate rowing career at Tennessee, Arms was a moving force behind the program-best ninth-place team finish at the Tennessee-hosted 2007 NCAA Championships.
The program’s “Effort = Achievement Award” recipient in 2004, Arms saw Tennessee compete for the NCAA Championship every year of her career on Rocky Top.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2007; additionally, she minored in Business with a concentration in Management.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Arms and her husband reside in Knoxville with their three boys: Micah, Owen and Fisher.
